Cookie Policy

Effective date: February 21, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the BarOS platform uses, why we use them, and how you can manage them.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to site owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.

2. Cookies We Use

BarOS uses only strictly necessary cookies — cookies that are essential for the Service to function. These do not require your consent under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.

Cookie NamePurposeTypeDuration
session_tokenAuthenticates your login session so you stay logged in as you navigate the appEssentialSession / 30 days

kiosk_pinMaintains the staff kiosk session after PIN entry (stored in session storage, not a cookie)Essential2 minutes (auto-expires)

3. No Tracking Cookies

BarOS does not use any advertising, marketing, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not:

  • Track you across other websites.
  • Build advertising profiles.
  • Share cookie data with ad networks.
  • Use third-party analytics that set tracking cookies (e.g., Google Analytics).

If we add optional analytics in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your explicit consent before setting any non-essential cookies. We will provide a clear consent mechanism (cookie banner) at that time.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Our payment processor, Stripe, may set cookies when you interact with payment forms (e.g., entering card details). These cookies are set by Stripe for fraud prevention and payment processing purposes. Stripe's use of cookies is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

No other third-party cookies are set by the BarOS application.

5. How to Manage Cookies

Since we only use essential cookies, disabling them may prevent the Service from functioning correctly (e.g., you won't be able to stay logged in). However, you can manage cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

You can also use your browser's developer tools to inspect which cookies are currently set for the BarOS domain.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this policy. Material changes (especially the addition of non-essential cookies) will be communicated to you before taking effect.
